FAQ's

Q: What does “Edesia” mean, and how do you pronounce it?

A: Edesia (ed-ESS-ee-yah) is named after the Roman goddess of feasting and hospitality. Chosen by the host of the event, The Wine Country Inn, 15 years ago, Edesia, the event, lives up to its name! Each year showcases a different theme: this year is Carnaval in the Vinyards!

Q: Does Edesia happen over two days? Do I have to attend both?

A: There is a Wine Pairing Dinner hosted on Saturday, March 28 from 5 – 8 pm, complete with welcome cocktail, music, and a special 5-course menu thoughtfully designed to capture the vibrant spirit of Brazil while showcasing local Colorado wines. On Sunday, doors open at noon to the Food, Wine, and Spirits Expo that takes place until 4 pm. Attendees can enjoy a Brazilian-tradition dance troupe, Samba Fogo, whose stunning costumes and high energy performances will delight! Tickets for these events are sold separately, but sponsorship benefits include tickets and exposure on both days.

Q: How many people attend?

A: Edesia attracts 350+ appreciators of food and drink over the two days.

Q: Where is Edesia held?

A: The Wine Country Inn in Palisade generously hosts this event. The Dinner is held in its ballroom, while the Expo makes the most of the indoor vaulted foyer as well as the outdoor garden patio, surrounded by fruit trees.

Q: What is PrimeHealth+? Why do they have to raise money?

A: PrimeHealth+ began in 1988 as Marillac Clinic, providing primary care to uninsured people. In 2015 became a community health center, part of a larger primary care system that serves 34 million people across the U.S. Today, we offer and deliver care to over 16,000 patients of all ages, including medical, dental, and behavioral care in Mesa and Montrose counties. In addition to caring for patients without health insurance, we accept Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance. Our sliding fee discount scale makes payment affordable. Our clinical staff are all licensed and credentialed (no volunteers), and our patient navigators connect people to other resources they may need to stay healthy, like food, housing, and transportation. An on-site pharmacy at our main location with a drive-up window and home delivery service makes filling prescriptions easier for our patients and the public. And our Convenient Care Clinic is here for same-day care as needed. There is no other primary care provider who offers this range of services under one roof. We break down barriers to being healthy!

Q: How can I participate?

A: We invite you to become a sponsor! Your generosity will make it possible for families and individuals to receive quality primary care at an affordable price, helping our community to thrive and be well.

Q: What is the history of Edesia?

A: In its 16th year, this annual event has raised nearly $560,000 that has helped others in our community afford primary medical, dental, and behavioral healthcare.
